I work on the physics of the invisible — dark-matter signatures in rare B-meson decays, and the night sky we're losing to light pollution.

The bright stars are the real winter sky over Gurugram, 28.5° N — every star brighter than magnitude 5 is drawn from the Yale Bright Star Catalog; the faintest are a statistical fill. Drag to see what the streetlights erased. If you allow it, your own sky is estimated automatically from one tile of a public light-pollution atlas — your position stays in your browser — and the button brings you back to it.

This is the sky Gurugram should have. I'm working on getting it back.

About

I'm a Class 12 student at Amity International School, Gurugram, and I do two kinds of physics. In the first, I calculate how dark fermions — matter no experiment has ever seen — would leave fingerprints on the angular observables of rare B-meson decays. In the second, I measure something disappearing in plain sight: the night sky itself.

The kids learning astronomy on Astrophy — my app — can't see stars from their Gurugram rooftops anymore. So I started measuring what they're missing: first for myself, with a smartphone and an idea, then for anyone who wanted to contribute, with a platform I called SkyQI. One app measures the problem. The other keeps the wonder alive despite it.

Away from physics, I serve as my school's Head Girl, play classical piano, and compete at badminton.

Projects

Three projects, one problem: the disappearing night sky. One measures it, one keeps the wonder alive despite it, and one argues about it in public.
